Linux Systems
Linux is a free UNIX-type operating system originally created by Linus Torvalds, with the assistance of developers from around the world. Apart from being freely distributed, Linux's functionality, adaptability and robustness have made it the main alternative to proprietary UNIX and Microsoft based operating systems. Throughout the '90s, Linux has grown in popularity and has gained the support of some of the giants of the computer industry, (including IBM and HP).
Although there are numerous distributions of Linux available, here at LogicalStep.co.uk we have chosen to focus primarily on those based on RedHat and Ubuntu.
Linux Description
When you start your Linux system for the first time, you will see a clean uncluttered desktop with a default theme and menu that is easy to use. Whether you want to surf the web, send and receive email, create documents, spreadsheets, presentations or edit images, Linux freely provide this and so much more.

With Linux updates are quick and simple to install. With a few clicks of your mouse an update can be installed. The taskbar also contains an update area that will advise you when updates are available.

If you need help or support, this can be found simply from the desktop browser.

Users are also capable of switching between operating systems. The program which makes dual booting possible is called a boot loader.
However, with each multiple operating system configuration being unique it would not be possible, at this stage, to give a true price indication.
Therefore if you require such a build please submit details of your build design on the below form. We will thereafter draw up your system specification, configuration and cost.
